Crawfords Freightlines Pty Ltd has been awarded a significant road and rail transportation services contract by Heron Resources Limited for its Woodlawn Zinc-Cooper Project in New South Wales. Expected to commence in late 2018, Crawfords will be moving zinc, copper, and lead mineral concentrates from the mine site to Port Kembla and Botany Bay. Crawfords will employ a dedicated fleet of sealed containers for the overland transport.
Initially planning to utilise road haulage options to the ports, Heron identified “an attractive and cost-effective opportunity” to use our Goulburn facilities to transfer from road to rail. This reduces road movements and eases truck traffic through Goulburn. This represents a cost-effective, safe, and efficient logistics solution as well as benefits to the community and employment opportunities at our Goulburn intermodel facility.
“Heron is please to have arrived at a safe and efficient solution for the transportation of mineral concentrates, which also offers tangible benefits to the local communities around Woodlawn.”
