On Friday, 12 April 2019, members of the Crawfords team at Sandgate, Newcastle, along with representatives of our client and neighbouring site Sibelco, attended an informative presentation from Chief Inspector Phillip Brooks of the NSW Police Force. The focus of the presentation was on the impact of fatigue on heavy vehicle safety and compliance.

The NSW Police Force wish to raise awareness about the importance of chain of responsibility and the devastating outcomes that can eventuate from lack of control. Chief Inspector Brooks used examples from the broader community to educate everyone on issues such as lack of maintenance, drugs and alcohol abuse, phone use whilst driving and the impact these all have on other road users.

The Chief Inspector was surprised at the level of auditing and compliance Crawfords Freightlines undertakes and how the Company embraces it as a positive and productive management tool. Feedback from the presentation indicates that it was well received and we highly encourage others to support our Police Force in making our roads safer for everyone.
